ABOUT PASTOR STEVE

I enjoy helping people to get to know Jesus Christ and to know God’s amazing grace! I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, KY, with a Master of Divinity. I was a Beeson Scholar at Asbury Theological Seminary in the Doctor of Ministry in Transformative Preaching and Leadership. I’m a current Ph.D. in Leadership Candidate at Lancaster Bible College/Capital Seminary & Graduate School, Lancaster, PA.

I’m retired as a Major from the US Army with 26 years of service. The highlight of my military career was commanding a tank company team for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002-2003. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time reading, and watching movies.

MY FAMILY

I married Sandy Parker, now Sandy Parker Martinez, in March of 2023.  She moved from Austin, Texas be my team mate in ministry.  She is the Lay Leader in Covenant Area 1 and works closely with the Global Methodist Women on a conference and global scale. She’s a mom of three daughters and four grandkids.  As a Tech Wing Girl and Community Manager of the Pink Lady Posse virtual empowerment group for women, she has been a great resource for our work.

I have a son who serves as a Second Lieutenant in the Vermont Army National Guard as an Army Nurse and a nurse in his civilian life. I have five grandsons! Ask me to show you a picture.  I’ll be happy to.

MY MISSION

My mission is making disciples of Jesus Christ for the Kingdom of God; equipping God’s people to do God’s work and to build up the church, the Body of Christ, until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-13)

WHAT MAKES ME JUMP OUT OF BED EACH MORNING

My greatest desire, what makes me jump out of bed each morning, is to see people come to know and have the power to understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep is God’s love. And that they may experience the love of Christ, although it is too great to understand fully. (Ephesians 3:18-19)
